Dedication of the new front line Engine on September 11, 2021. In honor of the 343 brave souls lost in the 9/11 attacks.
Initial Attack 38 is a 2007 Chevrolet C5500 4X4 Kodiak with a 250 gallon per minute fire rated pump with CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System). It carries approx 270 gallons of water and can be the initial arriving Engine on fire responses with limited access. It also doubles as a Command Post for logistics management on other calls.
Engine 38 is a 2020 Freightliner M2 106 with a 1250 gallon per minute fire rated pump with CAFS. It carries 1000 gallons of water which is an impressive initial amount of fire suppression capability.
Tender 38 is a 2000 Freightliner FL 80 with a 750 gallon per minute fire rated pump. It carries 2000 gallons of water. It's main job is water supply support, and it's 2000 gallon payload offers a lot of support to our frontline Engines using CAFS.
Aid 38 is a 2010 Dodge Ram 4500 4X4. It provides our EMT's a very capable BLS treatment & response apparatus.
Utility 38 is a 2006 Ford F-150 Utility Pick-up. It's main purpose is for safety and support. It is equipped with enough signage to close 2 separate road sections providing crucial safety to crews working near an incident & to keep the public safe from potential hazardous areas.
Utility 38-02 is a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. It is primarily a Staff or Command vehicle. It is regularly staffed by our 24/7 on duty Battalion Officer.
